Give Me Water

John 4:6-8 "6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give Me to drink. 8 (For His disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)" Our THIRST for God makes us study the Holy Scriptures. Like the DEER seeking the refreshing waters of a stream. The Apostle Paul is wrote in First Corenthians chapter ten of the time the Israelites escaped slavery in Egypt and wandered through the wilderness. "They drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." Today we turn to the Gospel of John for another LINK between the Old Testament and New Testament. Jacob was the son of Issac who's life was symbolically one long wrestling match with everyone. In the end he wrestles God and gets the new name Israel. It's Isreal's twelve sons that grow into the twelve tribes of Israel!  T...

that Rock was Christ!

1 Corenthians 10:2-4 "2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." We study the Holy Scriptures in a way we Really THIRST for God. Like the DEER seeking the refreshing waters of a stream. As ALL living creatures we require water, even more than food! Generally, someone could survive weeks without food and only a few days without WATER.  Our land is very THIRSTY. Our society today being without the worship and fear of God. A secular humanist culture that has cracking soil and plants dying and drying up. Our world needs the rain of God and the REIGN of GOD! Today's verses takes us back to another time like this. The Apostle Paul is writing of when the Israelites had escaped slavery in Egypt and wandered through the wilderness. First Corenthians chapter ten, verses two through four; ...

pray for REIGN

Psalms 63:1&2 "1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see Thy power and Thy glory, so as I have seen Thee in the sanctuary." As we study the Holy Scriptures our desire to learn God's Word grows. We Really THIRST for God. Which is this week's lessons. Yesterday with Psalms chapter forty-two verses one and two. Which paints the word picture of a thirsty DEER seeking the refreshing waters of a stream. As living creatures we require water, even more than food! Generally, someone could survive weeks without food and only a few days without WATER. Thirst is more powerful than hunger, and more impatient when experienced. The healthy way we THIRST for water is the healthy way we need to seek after GOD! We need to be in GOD'S presence in public worship. We need to be in GOD'S WORD in private study. And, we need to be in PRAYER to GOD communicating to ...

THIRST for God

Psalms 42:1&2 "1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?" This past week we read from the Gospel of Luke chaper four where Jesus teaches a Master Class on resisting the temptations of Satan! We have to know the TRUTH in the Holy Bible so well that we can spot the LIES of Satan when we see them. And, use quotes from the Holy Bible to refute the lies. Know how rigorous and how dangerous resisting the Devil is we need to really desire to learn God's Word.  Really THIRST for God. Which is this week's lessons. Beginning with Psalms chapter forty-two verses one and two. Out of the King James Version, the Old English word "hart" is a stag or a male deer. (The feminine counterpart being a "hind.") The picture here is of a thirsty DEER seeking the refreshing waters of a stream; "As the hart panteth after the water broo...

Jesus did it all

Luke 4:12&13 "12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season." This is the third temptation from Satan to Jesus. Satan is very tricky, while at great heights he is twisting scripture, quoting Psalm ninety-one, verses eleven and twelve, BUT, God doesn't mean it the way Satan delivers it. It's not a challenge to get someone to try to hurt themselves and have angles protect you. Many of Satan's temptations try to trick you to do something that will hurt you. Making you think you won't get hurt. Maybe Making you RATIONALIZE what you are doing. Tell yourself a RATION OF LIES. We have to know the TRUTH in the Holy Bible that we can spot the LIES when we see them. Jesus spots this lie and responds with a quote from Deuteronomy chapter six, verse sixteen, in today'sverses; "And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shal...

just say "NO."

Luke 4:9-11 "9 And he brought Him to Jerusalem, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10 For it is written, He shall give His angels charge over Thee, to keep Thee: 11 And in their hands they shall bear Thee up, lest at any time Thou dash Thy foot against a stone." Did Jesus have any fear of heights??? As a man Jesus had needs, limitations, and frailties. He had a flesh and blood body with nerve endings like ours and emotions that tore at Him like ours do. After His Baptism Jesus was alone in the wilderness with Satan! Jesus told His Disciples about this experience so they could learn how to resist temptation. And, you and I can learn how to resist temptation! First and second times Jesus quotes the Holy Bible to resist Satan. Jesus knew GOD, His Father and experienced the empowerment of the Holy Ghost. He cultivated through a lifetime of solitude, prayer, and meditation on Scripture enabled Him to...

see through LIES

Luke 4:8 "8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind Me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. Jesus was alone in the wilderness with Satan! Jesus told His Disciples about this experience so they could learn how to resist temptation. And, you and I can learn how to resist temptation! First Jesus quotes the Holy Bible to resist Satan. In today's verses too Jesus uses Holy Scriptures to fight off Satan.  Satan has promised "If Thou therefore wilt WORSHIP ME, all shall be Thine." Satan lies and says the world is his to give. What does Satan have to offer? Lies. Abuse. Suffering. Jesus can see through Satan's LIES. Today's verses; "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind Me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve." This is quoting Deuteronomy chapter six verse thirteen. Jesus knew GOD, His Father and experienced the em...

Satan's LIES

Luke 4:5-7 "5 And the devil, taking Him up into an high mountain, shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto Him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If Thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be Thine." This week we are studying the verses from the Gospel of Luke where Jesus was alone in the wilderness with Satan! Jesus told His Disciples about this experience so they could learn how to resist temptation. And, you and I can learn how to resist temptation! In the first instance Jesus quotes God's own words from the Holy Bible to resist Satan's plan to use PRIDE to get Jesus to go against God's plan. Satan tempts us to sin. Bread would have been VERY delicious to the starving Jesus. But, that didn't work. Next, Satan tries to tempt Jesus with POWER, FAME and RICHES! From a great height; "And the devil said unto Him, A...

by every word

Luke 4:3&4 "3 And the devil said unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." JESUS SAVES YOU and teaches us how to live our lives! This week we shall study the verses from the Gospel of Luke where Jesus was alone in the wilderness with Satan! Jesus told His Disciples about this experience so they could learn how to resist temptation. After His Baptism Jesus took some time off, retreating to the wilderness where He fasted for forty days. Most likely in meditation and prayer. His relationship with God had to be at it's strongest. This is when Satan visits Jesus. When He is fatigued and hungry like never before.  "And the devil said unto Him, IF thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread." "IF" Satan says! They both know who he is! Satan is there because He is the Son of God. The o...

Pride and Joy!

Luke 4:1&2 "1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days He did eat nothing: and when they were ended, He afterward hungered." This past week we studied The Lamb of God, the priceless sacrifice. In Christ God was reconciling the world, or as the Greeks would express it; the KOSMOS! That's literally everything!! Including you and me! Look in the mirror, God died on the cross for YOU. I know it's unbelievable, but it's TRUE!  JESUS SAVES YOU. Not only that, Jesus also teaches us how to live our lives! This week we shall look into the verses from the Gospel of Luke where Jesus was alone in the wilderness with Satan! Jesus had to of told His Disciples about this experience so they could learn how to resist temptation and the efforts of Satan to destroy their lives. God's spirit had descended upon Jesus as He was baptized by John the Bapti...

Jesus Saves YOU!

Colossians 1:21&22 "21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled 22 In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight:" But, Wait! There's more! Not only was Jesus BOTH the priest and the sacrifice!  "the LAMB of GOD, which taketh AWAY the SIN of the WORLD." as John the Baptizer introduced  Him, also Jesus preformed reconciliation. We all fall away from God's teaching and we insist on doing our own thing. Which is sin. This is a deep disagreement between God and all people. This disagreement the Son settled once and for all on the cross. The Lamb of God, the priceless sacrifice. And, as Paul points out in the verse not merely all humanity, but “all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven.” This is, indeed, only a fuller exposition of the truth that God was in Christ reconciling the world, or as the Greeks would express it;...

Peace with God

Colossians 1:19&20 "19 For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." Jesus was BOTH the priest and the sacrifice! In God's plan the Sacrifice does NOT stay dead, but comes back to LIFE and SAVES everyone who will believe in Him!!! He is the Living GOD! When John the Baptizer introduced Jesus to the world he humbly said "BEHOLD the LAMB of GOD, which taketh AWAY the SIN of the WORLD." John is introducing GOD'S Sacrifice to the people who will benefit from this action. The LAMB is the Sacrifice.  This "LAMB of GOD" is the priceless sacrifice. The cost of your and my forgiveness is beyond measure. We get to bask in they Glory of God only because of the sacrifice of the Son. And, when we are really blessed the Holy Ghost gives us FAITH to believe in our risen S...

priceless sacrifice

John 1:28&29 "28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." Our study is around the brutal custom of animal sacrifice. Jesus was BOTH the priest and the sacrifice!! He volunteered to be crucified. In God's plan the Sacrifice does NOT stay dead, but comes back to LIFE and SAVES everyone who will believe in Him!!! He is the Living GOD! We turned to the Gospel of John, chapter one, when John the Baptizer introduced Jesus to the world! John does it from a very humble posture saying that he was NOT good enough to perform even the smallest and most basic of task for the Messiah. And, John is a man that Jesus said was GREAT!!! It's in today's verses we get to the real meaning of our study; "John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, BEHOLD the LAMB of GOD, which taketh AWAY the SIN of the WORLD." J...

who our Savior is

John 1:26&27 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; 27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose. We have been studying animal sacrifice. A BRUTAL custom from the very beginning up through Jesus's day. Jesus was BOTH the priest and the sacrifice!! He volunteered to be crucified. He became the sacrifice ‘without blemish,’ fulfilling in perfect moral purity the prescriptions of the ceremonial law, as designed by GOD. In God's plan the Sacrifice does NOT stay dead, but comes back to LIFE and SAVES everyone who will believe in Him!!! He is the Living GOD! Today we turn to the Gospel of John, chapter one, verses twenty-six and twenty-seven; "John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is PREFERRED before me, whose shoe's latchet I am NOT WORTHY to unloose....

The Living GOD

Hebrews 9:13&14 13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Animal sacrifice is not unique to Israel. But, the transformative meaning GOD gives the ritual is unique! All the way back to the beginning we know that blood is LIFE itself. The sheding of blood is violent. Animal sacrifice was a BRUTAL custom. The practice all the way up to Jesus's day was a foreshadowing of the sacrifice the Son of God made for you and me. The author of the book of Hebrews explains it to us; Jesus does it all! He is BOTH the priest and the sacrifice!! He volunteered to be crucified. It was not the Romans who bound Him there. It was not the nails that kept Him on the cross. It was His LOVE that fastened Him there. He became the sacrifice...

Greater and More Perfect

Hebrews 9:11&12 "11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Jesus does it all! Jesus became the sacrifice on the cross achieving Salvation for everyone. Jesus saves you! It is about your FAITH in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Yesterday we read from the Old Testament book of Isaiah. There is prophecy pointing to Jesus Christ! "...the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." "He was OPPRESSED, and He was AFFLICTED, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a LAMB to the slaughter..."  We look back on animal sacrifice as a BRUTAL custom. And, it was violent. The sheding of blood is. All the way back to the beginning we know that blood is LIFE itself. Animal sacrifice is ...

Oppressed & Afflicted

Isaiah 53:6&7 "6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth." We just studied in the Gospel of Matthew where the "rich young ruler" coming to Jesus FOR a check list of things to do to enter God's Kingdom. He wanted to earn his way into heaven. But, there is nothing we can do. Jesus does it all! Jesus became the sacrifice on the cross achieving Salvation for everyone. Jesus saves you! It is about your FAITH in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  It's all about His SACRIFICE for us! Today we turn back to the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Much of which is prophecy pointing to the one person it could be; Jesus Christ! It's all fulfilled by our LORD!! Chapter fifty-three, verses six a...

Who Can Be SAVED???

Matthew 19:26 "26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." It was quite the scene with the "rich young ruler" coming to Jesus FOR a check list of things to do to enter God's Kingdom. He wanted to earn his way into heaven. His wealth was his identity. He provided for himself and was proud of it. Then Jesus showed him that money had a powerful hold on him. The "rich young ruler" walked away, leaving Jesus with the crowd hanging on His next words. Even the Disciples are perplexed and wondering where Jesus is going with this lesson??? "When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, WHO THEN CAN BE SAVED?"  The message for everyone listening and willing to hear; Jesus is HOW we get to heaven. It's NOT anything you and I can do. Jesus watched the "rich young ruler" walk away and now He's reading anxiety and sorrow as they begin to comprehend ...

WHO???

Matthew 19:26 "26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." A CAMEL

Matthew 19:24&25 "24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 25 When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?" This is an important message! Jesus repeated His point to be sure everyone got it. "And AGAIN I say unto you, It is EASIER for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, THAN for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Jesus's lesson is saying it's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE. In the preceeding verses Jesus showed the "rich young ruler" that he could NOT earn his was into heaven. Much less a life of FAITH by works. It was quite the scene with the "rich young ruler" walking away, leaving Jesus there with the crowd hanging on His next words. Even the Disciples are perplexed and wondering where Jesus is going with this lesson??? "When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly a...

Mission Impossible

Matthew 19:22&23 "22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. 23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven." He goes away "sorrowful." The "rich young ruler" who approached Jesus dying to KNOW what he needs to do to EARN eternal life. When Jesus said "keep the commandments." The young man said "GREAT! I've done that!" Next, Jesus said "If thou wilt BE PERFECT, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and FOLLOW ME." Christianity is not for the faint of heart or the proud. When we come to Christ He knows what's in our hearts and minds. Like our friend the "rich young ruler" who thinks he is great because he has kept the commandments! Then Jesus shows him what true charity would look like. This makes his weakness that ...

BE PERFECT

Matthew 19:20&21 20 The young man saith unto Him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow Me. We are studying the "rich young ruler" who approached Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter nineteen. He has everything going for him; he is a person of means and wealth. He is youthful and has a long and prosperous life ahead. And, he has some degree of power over his peers. He is large and in charge.  He has some faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He addresses Jesus as "Good Master." The "rich young ruler" is dying to KNOW what he needs to do to EARN eternal life. Let me know what it is and I will do it!!! Jesus's answered with what we call the Second Table of the Ten Commandments. The things we often think of as good works. These can also be thought of as works...

the Second Table...

Matthew 19:18&19 "18 He saith unto Him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." This week we are studying the time the "rich young ruler" who approached Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter nineteen. Between here and the account in the Gospel of Luke we get the title "rich young ruler." Seemingly, he has everything going for him; he is well off, a person of means and wealth. He is youthful and has a long and prosperous life ahead. And, he has some degree of power over his peers. He is large and in charge.  He also has the best of all attributes; he has some faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He addresses Jesus as "Good Master." The "rich young ruler" is dying to KNOW what he needs to do to EARN eternal life. Let me know what it is and I will do...

What Shall I Do???

Matthew 19:16&17 "16 And, behold, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17 And He said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." We are coming off of studying the Lord's Prayer and the GREAT message from the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus is teaching us to NOT worry or be anxious. We are at our BEST when we use the Lord's Prayer as our guide. In this prayer there are seven petitions that we need to make and it guides us through them all. We can just pray the Lord's Prayer, it is an outstanding prayer and covers EVERYTHING we NEED! If for some reason that's not enough for you; use the Lord's Prayer as your template. Come up with your own words that covers the seven petitions and you will be praying like an expert in no time.  Someone who surely thought they were a payer expert was the "rich youn...

Everything We Need...

The Lord's Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. This is the prayer that Jesus taught to His Disciples. It is the model prayer. This past week we studied a section of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus is teaching us to NOT worry or be anxious. We asked ourselves how much of your prayer live is devoted to praying for food, fashion and other things that you NEED? How often are your prayers motivated by worry and anxiety?? Do we not understand the promises of God??? Our heavenly Father knows that we have needs. Our heavenly Father is far better acquainted with all our wants than we know ourselves! We can rely on the love and wisdom of GOD our Father in heaven...

seek first...

Matthew 6:33&34 "33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." From the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus is teaching us to NOT worry or be anxious. Jesus says GOD takes care of the wild birds flying free. And, the fields are clothed in wildflowers, more beautiful than the most expensive FASHION! GOD provids exceedingly and abundantly!  How much of your prayer live is devoted to praying for food, fashion and other things that you NEED? How often are your prayers motivated by worry and anxiety?? Do we not understand the promises of God??? Our heavenly Father knows that we have needs. Our heavenly Father is far better acquainted with all our wants than we know ourselves! We can rely on the love and wisdom of GOD our Father in heaven! Jesus brings it all home in tod...

No Thought

Matthew 6:31&32 "31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things." This is from the Sermon on the Mount as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter six. Jesus is teaching everyone to not worry or be anxious. Jesus says GOD takes care of the wild birds flying free. And, the fields are clothed in wildflowers, more beautiful than the most expensive FASHION! GOD provids exceedingly and abundantly! When Jesus said "O ye of little faith?" He was not saying people were faithless or unbelieving. Jesus was pointing out that our trust is weak. We have moments of anxiety and worry. Jesus recommends FAITH.  Jesus begins to refine His point, in today's verses; "Therefore take NO THOUGHT, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be cloth...

Much More Than These

Matthew 6:28-30 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? We are in the Sermon on the Mount as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter six. Jesus is teaching everyone to not worry or be anxious. Jesus says look at the wild birds flying free. People are of more value than birds. Right? GOD sees to it they survive and even thrive! Next, in today's verses, Jesus compares the beauty of wildflowers with our own FASHION. "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was NOT arrayed like one of these. Wher...

Better than they...

Matthew 6:26&27 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? We have returned to the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter six, Jesus just taught that we don't want to become anxious and worried about our daily needs. We need to trust in God's provision. Don't let worry get in the way of your FAITH journey with our Lord and Savior! There is more to LIFE than eating delicious food and wearing fashionable clothes.  In today's verses Jesus makes the comparison with the birds; "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow NOT, neither do they reap, NOR gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye NOT much BETTER than they?" Jesus says look at the wild birds flying free. People are of more value than birds. Right? Jesus is saying we are mo...

MORE to LIFE

Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" It's only by the free gift from the Holy Ghost that a RENEWED spirit can be generated from within us! Any good that we do is GOD'S work through us. At best we can hope and pray that GOD will create ways that we can do good in His world!! "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and RENEW a right spirit WITHIN me." We need too ask God these very words! As we studied yesterday.  Today we return to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter six where Jesus is teaching to a crowd. Not just any teaching, this is from the Sermon on the Mount! Jesus says; "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. IS NOT the LIFE MORE than meat, and the body than raiment?"...

RE-NEW

Psalms 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Forgive us GOD! Have mercy on me! Are cries to our LORD and Savior for forgiveness!!  We are told that we are forgiven. Jesus did the work on the cross that PAID for our sins! How and why we might not understand this side of paradise. We just need to believe! At times it seems impossible to believe. We cling to the Holy Scriptures to help us understand and explain the conditions we find ourselves in. Today's verse is one that is priceless and precious to us; from the pen of King David, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and RENEW a right spirit WITHIN me." Oh, that we too will ask God these very words! We are wicked continually, it is only GOD that can clean our hearts. It's only by the free gift from the Holy Ghost that a RENEWED spirit can be generated from within us! Any good that we do is GOD'S work through us. At best we can hope and pray that GOD will create ways...
