Matthew 19:24&25
"24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?"
This is an important message! Jesus repeated His point to be sure everyone got it. "And AGAIN I say unto you, It is EASIER for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, THAN for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Jesus's lesson is saying it's pretty much IMPOSSIBLE. In the preceeding verses Jesus showed the "rich young ruler" that he could NOT earn his was into heaven. Much less a life of FAITH by works.
It was quite the scene with the "rich young ruler" walking away, leaving Jesus there with the crowd hanging on His next words. Even the Disciples are perplexed and wondering where Jesus is going with this lesson??? "When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?" Who then, indeed???
