MORE to LIFE

Matthew 6:25
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?"

It's only by the free gift from the Holy Ghost that a RENEWED spirit can be generated from within us! Any good that we do is GOD'S work through us. At best we can hope and pray that GOD will create ways that we can do good in His world!! "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and RENEW a right spirit WITHIN me." We need too ask God these very words! As we studied yesterday. 

Today we return to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter six where Jesus is teaching to a crowd. Not just any teaching, this is from the Sermon on the Mount! Jesus says; "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. IS NOT the LIFE MORE than meat, and the body than raiment?" Jesus is not saying we should not think about or plan our meals and take care of our own needs. He is saying that we don't want to become anxious and worried about our daily needs. We need to trust in God's provision. Don't let worry get in the way of your FAITH journey with our Lord and Savior! There is more to LIFE than eating delicious food and wearing fashionable clothes.

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
