RELIGIOUS LEADERSHIP...

Exodus 2:1 & 2 "1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. 2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months." This is a wicked time; the Israelites are living in slavery and their ruler, Pharaoh, is MURDERING all their baby boys by throwing them into the Nile river. Not only would helpless babies drown in the water of the Nile they would also be eaten by HUNGRY CROCODILES!!! The Nile river is a powerful force of nature; it gives life and takes it away. On it's banks are the farms and crops that feed the people. In it's currents and under the waves there is danger and death. Water is LIFE and it can be DEATH.  Today's verses are very interesting. Keep in mind the author or Exodus is Moses. Here he introduces his parents BUT does not name them. Almost like they are in the witness protection program; "And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took ...

HUNGRY CROCODILES!!!

Exodus 1:22 "And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive." The EVIL of men has always plagued this world. Are you troubled and distressed by what is happening in our world today? It is bad today but try to imagine how it was for the Israelites; living in slavery and their ruler is MURDERING all their baby boys! If you read "Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers" you will learn that INFANTICIDE has been widely practiced at different times and places; Sparta, Athens, Rome, Syria, Cartha and China. However this particular instance of throwing the baby boy into the Nile river would be extra horrific because of all the HUNGRY CROCODILES!!! This is a rather GRUESOME start this week as we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. We need to appreciate just how dangerous and violent this world can be. 👀 To read more in the Bible Commentary please follow thi...

BOTH/AND

1 Samuel 3:11 "And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle." "BEHOLD" "the LORD CAME, and STOOD, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel." This is NOT a disembodied voice or a voice coming from the Ark of the Covenant. This is the real presence and body of GOD STANDING there!!!  "Then Samuel answered, Speak; for Thy servant heareth." And God answered; "I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle." GOD does so MUCH with Israel the whole world's ears are tingling! This is the judgement of Eli's sons AND it can be the eventual birth, life and death of our Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ! God is the great communicator. His message always has the BOTH meanings AND carrying additional information. To get the BOTH/AND message for our Lord and Savior; please join us at one of the oldest Lutheran Chu...

GOD STANDING

1 Samuel 3:8-10 "8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for Thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for Thy servant heareth." YET! Again! GOD calls Samuel the third time. Samuel ran to Eli saying, "Here am I; for THOU CALLEDST ME."  This time; "Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child." Finally! They get it. It is wonderful that our LORD is very patient. With Eli and Samuel and also you and me!  Then in verse ten; "the LORD CAME, and STOOD, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel." This is NOT a disembodied voice or a voice coming from the Ark of the Co...

YET! Again!

1 Samuel 3:6 & 7 "6 And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him." YET! Again! GOD calls Samuel and Samuel thinks it was Eli; and he ran to Eli saying, "Here am I; for THOU CALLEDST ME." Eli has to be thinking; "stop bothering me, kid." This has to be early in Samuel's training, in verse seven we read; "Now Samuel did NOT YET know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him." Eli would have had the scrolls of the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Holy Scriptures! AND! the Lamp of God AND! the Ark of the Covenant!!! Somehow Samuel does not know the LORD and the WORD has not been revealed to him! Perhaps Eli has taught Samuel some but he has not fully understood the lessons, yet.  We want to hum...

THOU CALLEDST ME!

1 Samuel 3:4 & 5 "4 That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 5 And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down." Samuel was born to Hannah after GOD answered her prayers. She raised Samuel as a Nazarite and took him to the high priest, Eli, in the Temple to live, learn and work. Samuel is from the tribe of Levi and on his way to become a Priest for Israel. Eli and Samuel are living in God's Temple with the Lamp of God AND the Ark of the Covenant!!! What an incredible blessing this must be for them! Samuel is helping Eli with many things around the Temple. In this particular instance he is making sure the Lamp of God does NOT go out during the night. Eli is growing old and we can infer that his sight is failing and it is late in the evening, they are tired and going to bed. In today's verses GOD'S voice is heard by young Samuel; "That the LORD called Samuel:...

Living in God's Temple!

1 Samuel 3:2 & 3 "2 And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; 3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;" What an incredible time this was!  God answered Hannah's prayers. She raised Samuel as a Nazarite and took him to the high priest, Eli, in the Temple to live, learn and work. Samuel is also from the tribe of Levi and off to a good start on his way to become a Priest for Israel. While there was NO prophecy or revelation from God at this time, Eli and Samuel are living in God's Temple with the Lamp of God AND the Ark of the Covenant!!! Today's verse; "And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;" There seems to be a combination of things happening here; Eli is growing old and we can infer that his sight is fai...

PRECIOUS WORD

1 Samuel 3:1 "And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision." This week we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. While we are ALL Children of the Heavenly Father, it is best to remember that our LORD and SAVIOR is the ONLY begotten Son of God the Father! And, it is Jesus that all of the Holy Scriptures tells about. Open the word and comptemplate it. We have everything we need to know in the Holy Scriptures.  Yesterday we read the first verse in the book of Hebrews; "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the PROPHETS," AND, today we turn the pages to learn about one of the PROPHETS; SAMUEL!  His mother Hannah could not have children, she prays to God and He blessed her with the baby she names Samuel. Samuel means “God has heard.” Part of Hannah's prayer was to promise this child to the service of the LORD....

it's all about JESUS!

Hebrews 1:1 & 2 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; This week we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. While we are ALL Children of the Heavenly Father, it is best to remember that our LORD and SAVIOR is the ONLY begotten Son of God the Father! And, it is Jesus that all of the Holy Scriptures tells about.

God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

Jeremiah 31:31 & 32 "31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make A NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 NOT according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:" God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL to His people! God equipped Jeremiah for HIS service. God helped with every step along the way. We can trust that GOD will help us with our own struggles. God is VERY patient with us, even when we fail Him. Though we fail Him, He is patient with us, working in us to bring about the best for our lives. Like Jeremiah we live in a sin filled world. Even back then, in the middle of God's judgement on Israel; God had a plan to save them with His Son. Which He did with Jesus Christ's death and resurrection! He gives us a life transformation. The "NEW COVENANT" mentio...

brilliant example: TRUE to GOD

Jeremiah 1:10 "See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant." Jeremiah is called "the weeping prophet." Reading his book and Lamentations can be a downer; without a doubt. When we read his work we need to understand the wickedness of Israel in his day and GOD'S judgement that Jeremiah knew was coming. Realize that nobody was listening to Jeremiah’s warnings. This prophet's only reason for optimism is that God's will; will be done. If we look at Jeremiah's influence in his day and the size of his audience; we might come to the conclusion that he was a failure. But, that is NOT GOD'S perspective. GOD sees Jeremiah standing with HIM and faithfully delivering HIS message to all the people who were UNBELIEVING and DISOBEDIENT. GOD was Supremely patient with Israel; His judgement comes nine-hundred years after His original covenant and coun...

Don't Sell Yourself Short

Jeremiah 1:8 & 9 "8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. 9 Then the LORD put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth." We continue our study of Jeremiah. BEFORE Jeremiah's BIRTH; GOD declared him holy and set him aside to become His prophet! The youthful Jeremiah said he was TOO YOUNG to be a prophet. Jeremiah is in GREAT company, showing reluctance to do the LORD'S work. Moses and many others made excuses and God persisted. Gideon made excuses and God provided the way. Jonah RAN AWAY from God's call and God brought him BACK. God's will; will be done. God equipped them ALL for HIS service. God helps with every step along the way. Today's verses; "Be not afraid of their faces: for I Am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put MY WORDS IN...

WHATSOEVER

Jeremiah 1:6 & 7 "6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. 7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak." We continue our study of young people in the Holy Scriptures in the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah prophesied in Judah just before God’s people were taken captive to Babylon. Jeremiah's main message is the judgment coming to Israel because of their DISBELIEF and DISOBEDIENCE. In the time preceding Jeremiah's BIRTH; GOD declared him holy and set him aside to become His prophet! This is a Holy decree from GOD! When Jeremiah was just a fetus in the womb. God "knit" him in her womb. God created Jeremiah personally. Let that sink in... Really think about it... In today's verses the youthful Jeremiah says he is TOO YOUNG to be a prophet; "Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a CHILD. But the LORD s...

every birth; HIS BIRTH!

Jeremiah 1:4 & 5 "4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." As we recognize we really are "Children of the Heavenly Father" and continue our study of young people in the Holy Scriptures; we turn to the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah prophesied in Judah just before God’s people were taken captive to Babylon. Jeremiah's main message is the judgment coming to Israel because of their DISBELIEF and DISOBEDIENCE. In today's verse we continue the message that GOD calls His people even before they are BORN! "Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, BEFORE I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and BEFORE thou camest forth out of the womb I SANCTIFIED thee, and I ORDAINED thee a prophet unto the nations." In the time preceding Jeremiah's BIRTH; GOD declared him holy and set him ...

IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB

Psalm 139:13  "For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb." Today's verse is the famous one from Psalms chapter one hundred thirty-nine, verse thirteen. We know it best from the NIV translation; "For YOU created my inmost being; YOU knit me together IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB." GOD created you personally. GOD put you together BEFORE you were BORN!  Let that sink in... Really think about it... We really are Children of the Heavenly Father. GOD will prove you and use you to demonstrate His goodness and mercy in the world. GOD wants us to stand up against those that defy Him.  We can do it!  God is with us.  That is what happens the the Holy Scripture time and time again. We just studied where David defeated the giant Goliath. We want to be able to identify the GOLIATH'S that we will encounter in life. First he was on the battlefield prepared to fight the Israelites. Second he DEFIED GOD. That is the biggest tell; opposition to the ...

In The Image of God

Genesis 1:27  "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." This week we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. Last week we studied young David faced the GIANT GOLIATH!! One of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible! These events occurred so "ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW that there is a God in Israel."  Young David ran toward the giant Goliath when the rest of Israel was TOO scared. The other men of Israel gave in to the temptation to NOT fight the giant. GOD will prove you and use you to demonstrate His goodness and mercy in the world. GOD wants us to stand up against those that defy Him. We can do it! God is with us. We are His children. Today we turn to the first chapter of the first book of Holy Scripture, verse twenty-seven; "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." We are made in God's image! D...

Stand Up!

2 Thessalonians 3:2 & 3 "2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil." We have studied about David and Goliath this week. These events occurred so "ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW that there is a God in Israel." This is one of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible.  We are often told that these events need to inspire us to defeat EVERY giant we encounter. But, not every adversary in our life is a GOLIATH. Even some of our GIANT challenges are just obstacles to overcome. And, some of our challenges that are also enemies of GOD; they are GOLIATH'S that GOD will help us defeat. Don't fear the ones that defy GOD. Be confident in God and His assurance to help His people.  Young David ran toward the giant Goliath when the rest of Israel was TOO scared. The other men of Israel gave in to the temptation to NOT fight the giant. Yesterday...

BEAR IT!

1 Correnthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."  We have studied about David and Goliath this week. Careful readers will note that the text specifically says these events occurred so "ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW that there is a God in Israel." And the world knows, this is one of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible. AND! It echos the King of Kings defeat of sin, death and the giant Satan at the cross that all the earth will know that Jesus is our Lord and Savior! We will all share in this victory as we return to our heavenly home. Not every adversary in our life is a GOLIATH. Even some of our GIANT challenges are just obstacles to overcome. And, some of our challenges that are also enemies of GOD; they are GOLIATH'S that GOD will help us defeat. D...

RUN TOWARD

1 Samuel 17:47 & 48 "47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands. 48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine."  "that ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW that there is a God in Israel." And the world knows. This is one of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible. AND! It echos the King of Kings defeat of sin, death and the giant Satan at the cross! That all the earth will know that Jesus is our Lord and Savior! We will all share in this victory as we return to our heavenly home. Listen to young David's words to Goliath, in today's verses; "And ALL this assembly SHALL KNOW that the LORD saveth NOT with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands." The Holy Ghost is inspiring David to spe...

ALL THE EARTH MAY KNOW

1 Samuel 17:43-46 "43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel."  NO ONE in Israel dared take on GOLIATH. They were all very AFRAID. David arrives to remind everyone about the power of God! Today's verses; "Then said David to the Philistine, T...

FIVE SMOOTH STONES

1 Samuel 17:39-42 "39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. 40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. 41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance." This week we are continuing our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. We are studying King David in his youth. Specifically when he faced the GIANT GOLIATH!! One of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible! NO ONE in Israel dared take on GOLIATH. They were all very AFRAID. David arriv...

ONE of THEM

1 Samuel 17:36-38 "36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. 37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. 38 And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail." Here young David sounds like the precocious teenager who doesn't know what they don't know. David is demanding to go out as Israel's champion and fight a 10 ft tall, trained and experienced fighter. A seasoned veteran who would be able to take on a boy, NO PROBLEM. We know how the story unfolds so it is HARD for us to really appreciate how ludicrous it is for a boy to take on a WARRIOR! It would look like the brave man in China in 1989 who stood i...

CAUGHT, SMOTE and SLEW

1 Samuel 17:32-35 "32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him." This week we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. Last week we studied King Solomon, the son of King David. This week we will study King David in his youth. Specifically when young David faced the GIANT GOLIATH!! One of the most famous events recorded in the Holy Bible! While the books of Samuel do tell us a little about the prophet Samuel it is really a record ...

TURN TO JESUS

Mark 2:17 "When Jesus heard it, He saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." We have been studying in First Kings chapter three. Where we learn about King Solomon's LEGENDARY wisdom! When we find ourselves in the position of King Solomon, able to do something to STOP the pain and grief may we have the WISDOM to stop it. When we find ourselves in the position of this REAL mother may we have the courage to sacrifice our rights that our loved ones may LIVE. We need to do everything we can to minimize the pain and grief in our world. BUT, we are only human. Inheritantly we have our own "sickness." We might not always be WISE and COURAGEOUS. At which time we will feel "sick" with ourselves. Fortunately we have The Great Physician; pointed to in today's verse, "When Jesus heard it, He saith unto them, They that are whole have NO NEED of th...

STOP IT.

1 Kings 3:27 & 28 "27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. 28 And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment." LEGENDARY wisdom, without a doubt! King Solomon is amazing! But, how about this mother? Willing to give up her parental rights just so her baby boy could LIVE! She is ALSO amazing!  The OTHER mother answered out of pain, grief and jealousy; "neither mine nor thine." If this baby boy would have been DIVIDED it would NOT have helped her with the loss of her own son. It would have only generated MORE pain and grief. At the very least we need to do everything we can to minimize the pain and grief in our world. When we find ourselves in the position of this REAL mother may we have the courage to sacrifice our rights that our loved ones may LIVE. And, when we find ourselves in the p...

LIVE CHOICES

1 Kings 3:24-26 "24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. 25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. 26 Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it." This real life HORROR story is about to get much WORSE! One mother smothered her baby in her sleep! The other mother is afraid she is loosing her baby boy to the lying mother who smothered her own baby. But, WHICH woman is the lying mother? Now, in today's verses; "And the king said, Bring me A SWORD. And they brought a sword before the king. And the king said, DIVIDE the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other." Witnesses to this event unfolding have to think that everyone has lost their mi...

MY SON is living

1 Kings 3:22 & 23 "22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king. 23 Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living." This is a real life HORROR story; a mother smothering her baby in her sleep! To make matters WORSE; this poor mother doesn't bare the pain and suffering herself, she spreads it to her roommate, in today's verses; "And the other woman said, NAY; but the living is MY SON, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is MY SON. Thus they spake before the king. Then said the king, The one saith, This is MY SON that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and MY SON is the living." The first mother said that ...

NOT my son

1 Kings 3:19-21 "19 And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it. 20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. 21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear." This is a real life HORROR story; a mother smothering her baby in her sleep! This kind of things happens all too often. Just Google; "mother who smothered her baby" and you will see a long list of headlines from around the world! This is a tragedy that is all TOO common, TO THIS DAY. 😞 To make matters WORSE; this poor mother doesn't bare the pain and suffering herself, she spreads it to her roommate, in today's verses; "And she arose at midnight, and TOOK my son from beside me... and laid her dead child in my bosom." The old switcheroo. This ...

NO STRANGER witnesses

1 Kings 3:16-18 "16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. 17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. 18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house." We have studied a lot already in our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. This week we go back to the Old Testament to study King Solomon. God granted Solomon's request for one gift; WISDOM. Yesterday's verse from the book of Proverbs, chapter nine, verse ten; "The fear of the LORD is the BEGINNING of WISDOM: and the knowledge of the HOLY is understanding." The first thing we need to know is the Holiness of GOD! It's not something we can just learn and comprehend. It is something we study about GOD and the Holy Ghost allows us...

Divine Majesty

Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." We have studied a lot already in our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. Highlights include; • Shaping Our Faith about the nobleman asking Jesus to heal his dying son. • The Parable of the MUSTARD SEED • The Parable of the PRODIGAL SON • Coat of Many Colors, Free from and Free for… with freedom come responsibility • Healing and Hope about the young lady brought back to life by Jesus! • Growing in Body and Spirit about Jesus gone missing from His Mother and Father! • Sibling Rivalry about Jacob and Esau • A Child Like Faith about Jesus taking in the children when His Disciples did not want to. Christianity is for ALL AGES! This week we go back to the Old Testament to study King Solomon. He was able to accomplish what his father King David could not! AND! God granted Solomon's request for one gift; WISDOM. Something we all need more of in our world tod...

COME SEE

Matthew 28:6 "He is not here: for He is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." This last week we studied the nobleman in the Gospel of John desperately wanting his son's life saved. He found Jesus and his son was healed from twenty miles away. Before he got home his FAITH was CONFIRMED and everyone in his family became WITNESSES to the power of Jesus Christ! Their FAITH JOURNEY was accelerated!  This is the nature of FAITH. FAITH gives us possession of things before they happen. Heaven, glory, and everlasting salvation are already ours. We will receive CONFIRMATION of them on our journey home, before arrival! And, when we WITNESS it, when we get home; it will be GLORIOUS beyond our wildest dreams! We can know ALL this because of the incarnation, sufferings, and death of Christ, His resurrection, ascension, and session at God's right hand, are written of in the Holy Bible!!! Today's verse; "He is not here: for He is risen, as he said. COME...
