CRY unto the LORD

Psalms 142:1 & 2 "1 I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication. 2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before Him my trouble." This week we enter into the Advent season. It is the time of year we celebrate Jesus becoming incarnate. We want to note how amazing it is He came into our world as a crying baby. Giving us the theme and title for this week's study; A Babe Who Cries.  Keep in mind that this Babe in the manger is the same person who CRIED on the cross! A cry in extreme PAIN and great ANGUISH. AND, it's a cry that SAVES All others! The REASON for The SEASON!! That Baby that was 100% man and 100% GOD!!! Born from the Virgin Mary, in a stable, in a small town in the middle of nowhere.  Babies are helpless. They cry about everything. Each cry is different and has it's own meaning. Babies grow and learn to talk and still they cry. They learn to cry with their words. And, there are MANY reasons to cry...

a cry that SAVES

Psalms 22:1 "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?" In our studies last week we focused on the teaching from the Apostle Paul that emphasized the GREATNESS of GOD in providing His only Son as the sacrificial atonement of our sins! Out of gratitude we want to do GOD'S will for us. "the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Paul gives us a  positive list of things we CAN DO. This is how God would like us to live our lives. And, we CAN DO it with the help of the Holy Ghost! This week we enter into the Advent season. Advent seems early this year. It is the time of year we celebrate Jesus becoming incarnate. We want to note how amazing it is He did not come with a army, to concurred the world. Instead He came as a baby who cried. Giving us the theme and title for this week's study; A Babe W...

CAN DO!

Galatians 5:22-23 "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Last week we studied WONDERFUL verses from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. We learned about "NEWNESS of LIFE" through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Out of gratitude we want to do GOD'S will for us. His will is described throughout the Holy Bible. We want our actions and our lives to be used for GOOD and NOT bad (sin.) For more advice from the Apostle Paul on what we CAN DO to live according to GOD'S will; we turn to the book of Galatians for today's verses. "But the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Here he gives us a  positive list of things we CAN DO. This is how God would like us to live our lives. And, we CAN DO it with the help of the Hol...

instruments of righteousness

Romans 6:12-14 "12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." We are reading WONDERFUL verses from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. Paul has really driven home that we recive "NEWNESS of LIFE" through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Because of His sacrifice; sin and death has no more authority over us! We are FREE!!! It is a glorious thing that Jesus has given the world!!! We cannot express how incredible this is. What we can do is in today's verses; "Let NOT sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instrumen...

dead to me

Romans 6:9-11 "9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. 10 For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." You are DEAD to sin! Going back to old english sayings; one would say; "you're dead to me!" To say the person in question was disowned or would never be seen, or heard from again. With Jesus Christ, you and I can say to sin; "you're dead to me!" We now live for GOD! Sin and death hath no more dominion over us!  We are ALIVE with Christ, now AND in the world to come! Through our Baptism, through our communion and through our sanctification we have fellowship with Christ! We will go on to everlasting life that we begin to live now when we are blessed to express these spiritual truths to this world!  We have more to be thankful for t...

ALIVE AND

Romans 6:6-8 "6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him:" Today we are THANKFUL for our LORD and SAVIOR and to be able to learn about Him by reading from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. This letter points out that our journey with God does NOT END with our salvation but it continues as each of us is SANCTIFIED, or made HOLY! When we were Baptized we were given credit for Jesus's work on the cross! The glory and blessings that Jesus earned the HARD way, became ours the EASY way!!! Can we conceive of our GOD being SO generous that He let's us participate in His plans and work? How about our GOD giving us the credit and benefit of the work He does?? Through our Baptism we journey with Jesus into death and then onto resurrection with Him!! ...

NEWNESS of LIFE

Romans 6:4 & 5 "4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:" We really want to learn how to FALL IN LINE with GOD'S rules, regulations and laws. GOD is Holy and Generous, His plan, all along, was for the Son of God to come to us and be sacrificed for our sins. We are reading from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. This letter is the clearest and most systematic presentation of Christian doctrine in all the Holy Bible. Paul points out that our journey with God does NOT END with our salvation but it continues as each of us is SANCTIFIED, or made holy! Paul established that we do NOT want to sin more so that GOD'S GRACE will become greater. Paul further explains that when we were Baptized we ...

HARD or EASY

Romans 6:1-3 "1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?" Yesterday's verse from the letter to the Romans, chapter three, verse twenty three; "For ALL have sinned, and come SHORT of the GLORY of GOD;" puts us in the right frame of mind for this week's study; FALL IN LINE. We really want to learn how to   FALL IN LINE with GOD'S rules, regulations and laws. GOD is Holy and Generous, His plan, all along, was for the Son of God to come to us and be sacrificed for our sins.  We continue to read from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul from the city of Corinth. Before Paul has ever visited Rome and before the Emperor Nero losses his mind and persecutes the Christians. This letter from Paul, inspired by the Holy Ghost, clearly communicates G...

ALL.

Romans 3:23  "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Fall Back to GOD! Fall Into GOD'S Arms! Fall On Our Knees! The titles of our daily devotional studies the last three weeks. It's abundantly clear that our GOD is Holy, Glorious and Generous. We have every reason to be in awe and have the attitude of humility and submission to GOD. The whole plan, all along, was for the Son of God to come to us and be sacrificed for our sins. As the hymn in yesterday's study said; "For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn...  O night when Christ was born!" We cannot over estimate the importance of this event for all our lives! KNOWING this we begin to appreciate how inadequate we are to save ourselves or even do good in the lives of others. We really want to do better. But, we can't. We really want to learn how to FALL IN LINE with GOD'S rules, regulations and laws. Try as we will, we learn with experience the reality expressed in today's...

A thrill of hope

Oh, Holy Night  "A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn." "Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born!" This week we studied; Fall On Your Knees. It's not just a great lyric in this classic Christmas carol. It is the way we want to worship our Lord and Savior! Kneeling, bowing, lying facedown, bowing our heads, and lifting our hands. If the posture of our hearts is humility, awe and submission to GOD, our bodies will yearn to express that in physical ways. Making less of ourselves. Emptying ourself of our ego and focus on God and His Holiness. Filling ourselves with the grace of Jesus.  Less of us more of Him. We are entering the holiday season, this is the time for us to give thanks to GOD and share our attitude of gratitude with our neighbors.  Fall Back to GOD! Fall Into GOD'S Arms! Fall On Our Knees! Please join us in FALLING FOR GOD at one of the oldest Lutheran...

DO IT NOT

Revelation 19:9-11 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war." We are studying kneeling before GOD.  It's not something we normally do. We like to say that we DO kneel to GOD in our hearts and minds IF NOT literally in our posture. BUT, the two are connected; if the posture of our hearts is humility, awe and submission to GOD, our bodies will yearn to express that in physical ways. Kneeling, bowing, lying facedown, bowing our heads, and lifting our hands. If we do these things withou...

Not even figuratively!

Matthew  26:36-39 "36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. 38 Then saith He unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with Me. 39 And He went a little farther, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: nevertheless not as I will, but as Thou wilt." We are studying kneeling before GOD. We are not used to getting on our knees. It's not something we normally do. In the old days people DID have to kneel and bow at the feet of others.  Sometimes it's easier to get down than to get up. That alone can make us reluctant to bow down. We like to think of our RELATIONSHIP to GOD. We want to think that our attitude is correct, even if our posture is not. But, in our heart of hearts we kno...

Do we FALL ON OUR KNEES???

Philippians 2:10 & 11 "10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." AMEN!!! Jesus is not only GOD, He is the focus of all creation! "of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;" EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW! JESUS "is ABOVE EVERY name:" King of Kings. LORD of Lord's. Even GOD the Father praises Jesus; "hath HIGHLY EXALTED Him," reaching its pinnacle in verse eleven; "every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father." It doesn't get any clearer or better than this! AMEN!!! It was Jesus's death and resurrection that gives us our salvation! Jesus did NOT hold on to His God status too tightly. He was willing to humiliate Himself and become one of us. This great moment alone is reason enough to FA...

HIGHLY EXALTED

Philippians 2:8 & 9 "8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:" This week we are studying Fall On Your Knees. Like the eyewitnesses to the death and resurrection caused many of them to worship Jesus! They fell on their knees. You and me, we are not used to getting on our knees. It's not something we normally do. In the old days people DID have to kneel and bow at the feet of others. It was a sign of submission, honor, and respect. Especially if that other person was a king or queen.  AND! We often read in Holy Scriptures that a person will "worship" God. The Hebrew word for “worship” literally means “to bow down.” Something that would have been done from the kneeling position. Making kneeling before God a very important practice coming to us from the pages of our Holy Bible! We have turned...

Undercover Boss

Philippians 2:5-7 "5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:" This week we continue our FALL sermon series about the Seasons of Life. This week's study; Fall On Your Knees. Still on our minds is last week's study of the times many people witnessed death and resurrection and how this caused many of them to worship Jesus! They fell on their knees. You and me, we are not used to getting on our knees. It's not something we normally do. In the old days people DID have to kneel and bow at the feet of others. It was a sign of submission, honor, and respect. Especially if that other person was a king or queen. And, people would take a knee before anyone of higher authority especially if they sought a favor or blessing from that authority.  Today we turn to the lette...

Fall On Your Knees

Luke 5:8  "When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord." This week we continue our FALL sermon series about the Seasons of Life. Last week we studied FALLING into GOD'S Arms! We read from the Gospel record the mind blowing events around Lazarus' death and resurrection. The verses tell us that the eyewitnesses that were there did believe in Jesus after this event. Many of them went on to see Jesus also return from His own grave!!! These first believers knew the man who was Jesus and then they experienced Him as GOD!  Let's think about this dynamic for a minute. If we flip back to the Gospel of Luke, chapter five, verse eight we read about the instance when many of the Disciples first met Jesus. Jesus told this group of fishermen where to drop their nets and it yielded a record catch! In today's verse we read Peter's reaction; "he FELL DOWN at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; ...

Jesus returns

John 11:45 "Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him." "LAZARUS, COME FORTH!!!" Jesus said and the man, brother and friend to all those present, who laid in his grave for four days; got up and walked OUT!!! These people had seen Lazarus sick and dying. They saw him dead. They attended his funeral. They mourned him. They comforted and helped Martha and Mary with the death of their brother. And now, NOW, he stands before them living and breathing! Mind blowing JUST begins to describe this event! All of them and ALL of us, have low expectations for our Lord and Savior. We want our blind eyes to opened. We want our lame feet to walk again. All the while Jesus has defeated sin and death! He gives us eternal life! We will see forever and beyond! We will not only walk out of our graves but fly into the arms of GOD!!! Today's verse highlights that the eyewitnesses thay were here did believe in Jesus after this ev...

COME FORTH!!!

John 11:41-44 "41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard Me. 42 And I knew that Thou hearest Me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that Thou hast sent Me. 43 And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go." "LAZARUS, COME FORTH!!!" Was said and the man, brother and friend to all those present, who laid in his grave for four days; got up and walked out!!! These people had seen Lazarus sick and dying. They saw him dead. They attended his funeral. They mourned him. They comforted and helped Martha and Mary with the death of their brother. And now, NOW, he stands before them living and breathing! Mind blowing JUST beg...

see the GLORY

John 11:36-40 "36 Then said the Jews, Behold how He loved him! 37 And some of them said, Could not this Man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died? 38 Jesus therefore again groaning in Himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. 39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto Him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" We are studying FALLING into GOD'S Arms! We are in the Gospel of John, chapter eleven. Lazarus has died and was buried. EVERYONE is getting after Jesus for NOT being there to heal their friend or brother. First it was the Disciples, then Martha and her sister Mary. They all are a little short sighted in what they think Jesus can do for Lazarus! Trying to communicate to Martha Jesus said; "I Am Th...

Jesus wept.

John 11:28-35 "28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto Him. 30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met Him. 31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there. 32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto Him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept." We are studying FALLING into GOD'S Arms! For our devotional study we have turned to the Gospel of John, cha...

"I Am The Resurrection"

John 11:22-27 "22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever Thou wilt ask of God, God will give it Thee. 23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto Him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I Am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord: I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." We are studying FALLING into GOD'S Arms! Sunday was All Saints Day. The day we remember the saints that came before us and allow the memory of their FAITH to encourage our own worship and inspire greater service to the Lord.  For our devotional study we turn to the Gospel of John, chapter eleven. Jesus and His Disciples just had their own brush with DEATH as the Jewish leaders tried to stone Jesus for B...

"IF"

John 11:16-21 "16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him. 17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already. 18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off: 19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him: but Mary sat still in the house. 21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." This week we will study FALLING into GOD'S Arms! Sunday was All Saints Day. The day we remember the saints that came before us and allow the memory of their FAITH to encourage our own worship and inspire greater service to the Lord.  For our devotional study of this tender subject we turn to the traumatic events of Lazarus being raised from the DEAD!!! As recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter eleven. Jesus and...

I AM GLAD

John 11:11-15 "11 These things said He: and after that He saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. 12 Then said His disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. 13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that He had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. 15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him." We are continuing our FALL sermon series about the Seasons of Life titled; Flavors of Fall. This week we will study FALLING into GOD'S Arms! Yesterday was All Saints Day. The day we remember the saints that came before us and allow the memory of their FAITH to encourage our own worship and inspire greater service to the Lord.  This worship service is always filled with strong emotions and mixed feelings. We remember all who have gone before us. The loved ones who passed in the last years and t...

Fall Back to GOD

Acts 3:19  "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;" Today is Day Light Savings Time and we FALL BACK one hour. What if we had "ETERNAL LIFE SAVINGS TIME" and we would all FALL BACK to GOD! It can happen in each individuals heart and mind. Just people turning to God with no hidden agenda. Just a willingness to follow Jesus, total sincerity, and earnestness. FALL BACK to GOD! We studied the third chapter of the book of Jonah. And, we looked at the Gospel record of Matthew when our Lord and Savior referenced Jonah pointing out the scribes and Pharisees, and the other unbelieving Jews that are there and witnesses to His miracles and preaching all the while knowing the great many prophecies written about Him and fulfilled and they REFUSED to believe! In stark contrast the idolaters who lived wicked lives in Nineveh LISTENED to Jonah, a stranger to them, who did NO mi...

ETERNAL LIFE SAVINGS TIME

Matthew 12:40 & 41 "40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here." We have studied the third chapter of the book of Jonah. We want to try and imagine if the kind of FALLING BACK to GOD we read about could happen today in our families, churches, communities, cities and country. This would transform the world! Easier said than done... Today we turn to the Gospel record of Matthew when our Lord and Savior referenced Jonah; chapter twelve, verse forty, "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." We are familiar with this verse. Jesus is prophesying His own death and resur...

GOD truly forgives

Jonah 3:10 "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not." FALLING BACK to GOD! Is what Nineveh did! God spared them and did not destroy them, this time. "So the people of Nineveh BELIEVED GOD," Jonah witnessed a miracle! This city of idolaters who lived wicked lives admitted they were doing things wrong AND they took measures to change their actions! Their "CRY MIGHTILY to GOD" was a recognition and declaration that GOD'S  TRUTH is THE TRUTH. This is what is needed in our city and culture today. It can happen in each individuals heart and mind. Just people turning to God with no hidden agenda. Just a willingness to follow Jesus, no hidden agenda, total sincerity, and earnestness.  Try to imagine if this kind of FALLING BACK to GOD would happen today in our families, churches, communities, cities and country. This would transform the world! GO...

CRY MIGHTILY

Jonah 3:7-9 "7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?" This week we are studying FALLING BACK to GOD! We have turned to Jonah in the Old Testament. Jonah didn't want to go, GOD sent him anyway. Jonah's preaching was pretty weak, so it was God that turned these wicked people to good. "So the people of Nineveh BELIEVED GOD, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them." Imagine if that would happen today to a large city!!! Or, our country!! It would be a miracle! What Jonah...

Nineveh FALLING BACK

Jonah 3:5 & 6 "5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes." This week we are studying FALLING BACK to GOD! We have turned to Jonah in the Old Testament. And, there is a twist; Jonah did NOT FALL BACK to GOD! Jonah did NOT want to go to Ninava, the people there were EVIL. He went the OTHER way. He did not repent. God got him back on track by whale. After three days and nights in the belly of the great fish Jonah is spit up on shore where he can continue on his mission from GOD preaching to them. Jonah went into Nineveh, by all accounts it was a marvel to behold! The palace had no equal in the world, gardens, neighborhoods, businesses, schools and everything you expect in a really BIG city. Nineveh was one of the oldest and greate...

HARD message

Jonah 3:3 & 4 "3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. 4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." This week we are studying FALLING BACK to GOD! When the Church is on the right track it is FALLING BACK to GOD! During the Protestant Reformation all of the reformer's efforts were for the church to FALL Back to God. During the 1730s and 1740s in the English colonies in America the idea of secular rationalism was taking hold but then "The Great Awakening" happened and people were FALLING BACK to GOD! People in all times and all places will find themselves moving further and further away from GOD and we will need to FALL BACK to GOD! We all need to admit that we are broken and need help. We do things wrong. We get stuck in doing things wrong. To learn something more abo...

the OTHER way

Jonah 3:1 & 2 "1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, 2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee." We are continuing our FALL sermon series about the Seasons of Life titled; Flavors of Fall. This week we will study FALLING BACK to GOD! Yesterday was Reformation Day. The day we remember when Martin Luther posted the 95 Theseis on the church door. All of Martin Luther's efforts were for the church to FALL Back to God. He did not want to divide the church he wanted the church to be faithful to the HOLY BIBLE. Like it NEEDS to be! We need to admit we are broken and need help. We do things wrong. We get stuck in doing things wrong. We need help. Weather we are ourselves today, Martin Luther back in the day or Jonah in the Old Testament. We all need to FALL BACK to God. GOD has forgiven all our sins! Jesus has done it! His blood was shed for you. You did nothing to earn it. It's a gift from GO...
