Jesus wants YOU!

Matthew 28:18-20
"18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

This week we studied Jesus calling His first four disciples, Peter, Andrew, James, and John, while they were fishing on the Sea of Galilee. They responded with immediate obedience, leaving their trade and families behind to follow Him. Their response highlights the radical priority Jesus demands: loyalty to Christ above all else. The call was not just to believe, but to become “fishers of men.” A lifelong commitment to learn from Jesus and travel with Him.

Today’s passage, known as the Great Commission, is Jesus’ final directive to His disciples after the resurrection. After spending years learning from Him and witnessing His death and resurrection, they were now commissioned to go and spread the Gospel.

The passage contains three key elements: Christ’s Authority, the Commission to Make Disciples, and the Promise of His Presence. This mission has been passed down through the generations to us. We are called to “go and make disciples of all nations” through a threefold process:
• Going: Engaging all peoples and cultures, extending beyond the boundaries of Israel.
• Baptizing: Initiating new believers into the faith in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• Teaching: Instructing them to obey all that Jesus commanded.

Jesus is calling you today. And He gives you this promise: “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” His constant presence provides the courage and confidence to fulfill this mission, no matter the challenges.
Amen.
