live like the founders

Acts 2:47
"Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."

The Lord added to the church daily! And, the Lord has been adding to His church daily for over two-thousand years!!! This is God's plan. If we follow the example of Acts 2:42-47, God will take care of growing the church Himself.

It's a beautiful plan. God wants us to share our lives with one another and to CHARITABLY help others. The Christian life is to be joyful and simple. The first followers of Jesus voluntarily shared all they had for God's glory. These first Christians, some of them, met Jesus. Knowing He gave His life would inspire you to give up your material belongings. And, for too many of these Christians, they literally gave up their lives for the Gospel. We need to overcome the distance we experience being two-thousand years from these events. For God, this amount of time is the blink of an eye. We need to live like the founders of our FAITH. "Praising God, and having favour with all the people." Amen.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
