Matthew 25:37-40
"37 Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink?
38 When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee?
39 Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me."
"Go, and do thou likewise." is what Jesus said to an expert in Old Testament law after telling the parable of the Good Samaritan. Jesus is saying BE LIKE the Good Samaritan! Show mercy, compassion and sacrificial generosity! This was a slap in the face to this self-righteous Jew. This standard is not reserved for this type of Pharisee only. Jesus wants us all to be GOOD NEIGHBORS. Jesus demands that we feed the hungry, quench the thirsty, take in the homeless, clothe the naked, heal the sick, visit the prisoners, help least and lowest. Help them all like we are helping Him.
