endure temptation

James 1:12
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him."

Micaiah endured the temptation to go with the crowd and tell the king what he wanted to hear and not what GOD said. The Holy Scriptures don't tell us what happened to Micaiah. He is an example to us, showing courage when faced with extreme political and peer pressure. His speaking truth to power got him in trouble, probably seriously. Prophetic words are often not popular opinions. We need to stand with GOD, even when it gets us in trouble.

Today's verses tell us that Micaiah will "...receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him." We can all aspire to stay faithful to our Lord and Savior when faced with opposition to what is truly good and holy.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
