come and see

John 1:45&46
"45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found Him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph.
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see."

We could all learn from Samuel's example that we read earlier this week. Especially the attitude of "Speak; for Thy servant heareth." Next, we turned to the Gospel of John, where Jesus is calling His Disciples. Philip was beaming with enthusiasm. He is eager and ready to accept the invitation "FOLLOW ME."

Enthusiasm is contagious. And, Philip tells his friend Nathaniel about Jesus. But, Nathaniel is not convinced. "Can there ANY GOOD thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, COME and SEE." Nathaniel is more introspective. He has questions and wants answers. He wants to connect with God. And he will. COME and SEE.

Acts 2:7&8 "7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?" The Holy Ghost is the only way this happens. They were very surprised to be hundreds and, some cases, thousands of miles from "home" and hearing their language spoken! It was astonishing! Appreciate that these devout Jewish people whose families had been carried away from Israel generations before. Taken in captivity by armies that invaded and conquered Israel.
