Psalms 33:6-8
"6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him."
We have returned to the book of Psalms, in the Old Testament, to read faithful and encouraging words about our Experience of God hundreds of years before the events recorded in the New Testament! Even back then the Psalmist said that GOD seeks and saves the sinners and rejects. Glimpses of the Gospel message!
Yesterday's verses taught that GOD KNOWS stars and planetsfrom the beginning to the end! GOD'S knowledge has no boundaries! He is the creator of all things. It is His plan that is unfolding in our world today. It is all by His design. In due time we will witness GOD'S justice unfold. The wicked will be punished and the MEEK will be exalted.
We continue following this thread in chapter thirty-three of the Psalms, beginning with verse six; "By the WORD of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the BREATH of His mouth." The vastness of the universe, He determined the number and placement of every star. From the BREATH of God all the stars are created. God made it ALL and we are just a speck of dust on one small planet floating in the vast universe. On our planet we are small compared to the mountains and the oceans with depths that remain unknown to us.
And, verse eight; "Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in AWE of HIM." As sublime and AWE inspiring as creation is; it is even more incomprehensible that God sent His only Son to save you and me. Jesus was there at the beginning, the Alpha, and "the Word" binds it all together. He supplies the rain, makes the grass grow. God has it ALL but He did not have the hearts and minds of you and me. So, the Son comes to do something so incredible that people struggle to believe it to this day. Even having seen the wonderful influence His teaching and actions have had on the world.
