Acts 2:2-4
"2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said to them, "FOLLOW ME...And they straightway left their nets, and FOLLOWED HIM." They were doing a job others avoided. Jesus sought these people who others would call flunkies. Jesus called these fishermen who never made the cut as a Rabbi; Torah school would teach students the first five books of the Bible. By memory, successful students would be able to recite the five books from memory! But, that was NOT Jesus's Disciples. Jesus qualified those that He called. Selected them to continue His most important work!

And, in today's verses "And suddenly there came a sound FROM HEAVEN as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the HOLY GHOST, and began to speak with other tongues, as the SPIRIT GAVE them utterance." These spirit filled followers were speaking in other languages. Like a reverse of the tower of Bable! A sign that God is present in their lives. Jesus has returned to Heaven and sent the Holy Ghost to help teach and inspire His Disciples. As Martin Luther stated; we cannot believe without the Holy Ghost, which is one of three articles or confessions related to creation, redemption and sanctification. We need the Holy Ghost to light the fire of faith in us. Bringing us together in One True FAITH.

Elisha’s example

1 Kings 19:19-21 "19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him. 20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. I will make you

Matthew 4:19&20 "19 And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." In our "Follow Me" series, we study Jesus calling His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. By the Sea of Galilee, a thriving fishing hub, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew casting nets as humble fishermen. His disciples were ordinary workers, not wealthy or educated elites. Jesus approached them and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Remarkably, they immediately left their jobs to follow Him. This brief exchange conveys a profound truth: Jesus says, "I will make you." Only God can transform us to accomplish His purpose. We should often pray, "Help me, God," seeking Jesus' guidance to follow His plan for our lives.
