the guilty man

2 Samuel 12:7&8
"7 And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8 And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things." 

"THOU ART THE MAN."
Sometimes GOD speaks to us through others! The prophet Nathan was sent by GOD to David to speak to him about his wicked deeds. Nathan, carefully told a story that perfectly described what king David had done only camouflaged so David didn't recognize it! 

In today's verses Nathan points the finger at David! And, shares GOD'S judgment with him; GOD was willing and able to give David anything and everything. And, in many ways did, but David remained ungrateful and wanting what was not his. The custom of the time gave the new King the harem of the predecessor. David wasn't content with that and stole the wife of one of his best generals. Creating a tragedy of epic proportions for himself, his family, and all of Isreal. In Nathan's story David was ready to show the guilty man NO PITY! Now, we all know it is David who is the guilty man.

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
