Psalms 51:10&11
"10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me."
We are like David to one degree or another. This week we have studied Second Samuel when the prophet Nathan told King David about GOD'S judgment. David was ungrateful and wanted what was not his. David was guilty and paid the price the rest of his life, along with his family.
While we do NOT want to be like David in the wicked things he did. We also see the GREAT things he did. Today's verses is one example; "Create in me a CLEAN HEART, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me." David REPENTED of the evil he did! He begged for forgiveness and demonstrated his regret. We can all stand to be a little more like David and return to our Lord and Savior seeking His healing and His mercy for the wrong things that we do.
The good parts of these daily devotionals are inspired by the sermon at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg Texas. You can watch it by following this link... https://www.youtube.com/live/ioPYSJWWW5Q?feature=share
