Isaiah 9:2
"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."
Our Advent journey has almost run it's course. We have focused on John the Baptizer and naturally the subject of his preaching and prophecy; Jesus. Both of whom delivered messages of REPENTANCE. Both of whom were the embodiment of prophecy fulfilled.
As we complete our Advent journey and continue our spiritual journey into the new year; we need to read and study the Holy Scriptures so we can better understand the events recorded there and their meaning for our lives. We can open our hearts and make room in our daily lives for our Lord and Savior.
As today's verse points out; we are people who live in darkness. We see it all around us in our world. These are indeed dark days. They always have been. Our world is perpetually coming to an end. BUT! The light is coming into the world, perpetually too. A light has dawned. That GREAT LIGHT is our Lord and Savior!
