Matthew 28:9 & 10
"9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held Him by the feet, and worshipped Him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me."
God does things differently.
Not the way we would.
This is not what was expected.
There is a sense of urgency recorded here.
The two Marys went to the grave of their friend and teacher who they witnessed tortured and abused, killed and buried. Instead of the body they met the Angel who gave them the Good News and instructions; "GO quickly, and tell His disciples that He is RISEN from the dead; and, behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him!"
In today's verses the two Marys are blessed with seeing our Lord and Savior in person; "And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, JESUS met them, saying, All hail. And they came and HELD Him by the FEET, and WORSHIPPED Him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell My brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see Me."
The "All hail" is also translated as "REJOICE!" The two Marys become the first to see and touch Jesus after His resurrection!!! While the Angel's instructions were being followed, how much GREATER it is that they see for themselves;
Christ is RISEN!
He is RISEN INDEED! Hallelujah!!
