Jesus In Utero

Luke 1:39
"And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;"

This week we continue our series titled Children of the Heavenly Father. While we are ALL Children of the Heavenly Father, it is best to remember that our LORD and SAVIOR is the ONLY begotten Son of God the Father! And, it is Jesus that all of the Holy Scriptures tells about. This week we will study an event that took place when Jesus was IN UTERO.

For the record of these events we turn to the Gospel of Luke. Trained to be a doctor Luke was a Syrian from Antioch. So, he was NOT Jewish and brings an outsiders perspective to amazing events he chronicles. Luke lived and traveled with the disciples and family he would have had access to all the first person eye witnesses to the life and work of Jesus Christ.

For this week's verses we know that Luke talked with Mary recorded these cherished events from VERY EARLY in the life and times of Jesus. In today's verse Jesus is a growing baby in Mary's womb. She has gone through considerable stress in her family and hometown. So, getting away to the "hill country" to stay with a cousin would be a welcome rest and relaxation...

Elisha’s example
