justice and charity

2 Timothy 3:16&17 "16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." All Scriptures is God breathed! Use it. Be corrected by the word of God. Pray to Jesus. Yes, we live in the LAST DAYS. We are at the entrance to heaven and Jesus's rule over all creation for all eternity. What a glorious future we have in store! Until then, we will be persecuted. Paul warns that suffering and persecution will get WORSE and WORSE. Paul described how horrible people will be "in the LAST DAYS." Christians are called to stand apart from the secular humanism that people fall into by default. While the “man of God” is not a job we are hired to do. It is an ideal all Christians strive for. And, “good works” are not tasks from a to-do list. They are the actions the Holy Ghost motivates us into. Often generous ...

glorious future

2 Timothy 3:14&15 "14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." We are living in the LAST DAYS. Which started when Jesus ascended to heaven and will end when He returns! When will that be? Paul didn't know. You and I don't know. Paul described what people will be like "in the last days" in his letter to Timothy. And, Paul warns that suffering and persecution will get WORSE and WORSE. We are waiting for God to return and make things right. Until then, we will be persecuted. Read how Jesus lived. Read how He died and was resurrected. Read the Holy Bible as your life depends upon it. Because your eternal life does... "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast l...

worse and worse

2 Timothy 3:12&13 "12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." NO ONE KNOWS. ONLY GOD KNOWS. The LAST DAYS started when Jesus ascended to heaven and will end when He returns! When will that be? Paul didn't know. You and I don't know. Paul believed he was living "in the last days." We believe we are living "in the last days." And, we are all correct. Paul described what people will be like "in the last days" in his letter to Timothy. We return to Paul's letter for more cautionary warnings. "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus SHALL SUFFER persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax WORSE and WORSE, deceiving, and being deceived." We might have good things and good times, but in this life we will experience suffering. You will do the right things, and you will be punished for it. Do ...

only GOD knows

Matthew 24:35&36 "35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." We are reading from Paul’s letter to Timothy. Paul is describing what people will be like "in the last days." They "shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" It's a list that accurately characterizes people. It's amazing that Paul had these insights 2000 years ago, AND they are STILL true today! People have not changed!  Paul believed he was living "in the last days." We believe we are living "in the last days." And, we are a...

still true

2 Timothy 3:3-5 "3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." In this part of the letter to Timothy, Paul is describing what people will be like "in the last days." They "shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy," and the list continues in today's verses. It's a list that accurately characterizes people. It's amazing that Paul had these insights 2000 years ago, AND they are STILL true today! People have not changed! The persecution of Christians was terrible. Roman leaders were burning them alive, sending them to their death in the Coloseum and other cruel and unusual punishments. And, in our world today, Christians are persecuted and murdere...

the last days

2 Timothy 3:1&2 "1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy," We have been reading in the book of Revelation about THE END. We read about Satan being released from prison for 1000 years. How it will look like he is winning, BUT God’s plan includes the destruction of Satan and his work. It's no mystery what the Holy Bible communicates to us. Jesus WINS and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. All things will be new and improved! Including you and me! So, THE END will not be "the end." Life will go on eternally with GOD! This week we will continue to study the "LAST days." Perilous times, as we read in Second Timothy, chapter three. This is the LAST letter the Apostle Paul wrote. He wanted to prepare Timothy for the end times. They thought Jesus would return before the Apostle John died. Thei...

JESUS WINS!!!

Revelation 20:10 "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." FOR EVER AND EVER. THE END. Satan had rallied and was a terrifying affliction on our world. It looked like Satan and his followers were winning. But, God had other plans. From the very beginning, God’s plan in Christ included the destruction of Satan’s work. Jesus WINS! For a little while, people can believe that Satan is the winning side. We might even try to beat Satan and we might lose. We are vulnerable on our OWN, but with Jesus we can be strong. It's no mystery what the Holy Bible communicates to us. Jesus WINS and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. All things will be new and improved! Including you and me! Amen!
