CRY unto the LORD

Psalms 142:1 & 2 "1 I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication. 2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before Him my trouble." This week we enter into the Advent season. It is the time of year we celebrate Jesus becoming incarnate. We want to note how amazing it is He came into our world as a crying baby. Giving us the theme and title for this week's study; A Babe Who Cries.  Keep in mind that this Babe in the manger is the same person who CRIED on the cross! A cry in extreme PAIN and great ANGUISH. AND, it's a cry that SAVES All others! The REASON for The SEASON!! That Baby that was 100% man and 100% GOD!!! Born from the Virgin Mary, in a stable, in a small town in the middle of nowhere.  Babies are helpless. They cry about everything. Each cry is different and has it's own meaning. Babies grow and learn to talk and still they cry. They learn to cry with their words. And, there are MANY reasons to cry...

a cry that SAVES

Psalms 22:1 "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?" In our studies last week we focused on the teaching from the Apostle Paul that emphasized the GREATNESS of GOD in providing His only Son as the sacrificial atonement of our sins! Out of gratitude we want to do GOD'S will for us. "the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Paul gives us a  positive list of things we CAN DO. This is how God would like us to live our lives. And, we CAN DO it with the help of the Holy Ghost! This week we enter into the Advent season. Advent seems early this year. It is the time of year we celebrate Jesus becoming incarnate. We want to note how amazing it is He did not come with a army, to concurred the world. Instead He came as a baby who cried. Giving us the theme and title for this week's study; A Babe W...

CAN DO!

Galatians 5:22-23 "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Last week we studied WONDERFUL verses from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. We learned about "NEWNESS of LIFE" through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Out of gratitude we want to do GOD'S will for us. His will is described throughout the Holy Bible. We want our actions and our lives to be used for GOOD and NOT bad (sin.) For more advice from the Apostle Paul on what we CAN DO to live according to GOD'S will; we turn to the book of Galatians for today's verses. "But the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is NO LAW." Here he gives us a  positive list of things we CAN DO. This is how God would like us to live our lives. And, we CAN DO it with the help of the Hol...

instruments of righteousness

Romans 6:12-14 "12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." We are reading WONDERFUL verses from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. Paul has really driven home that we recive "NEWNESS of LIFE" through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. Because of His sacrifice; sin and death has no more authority over us! We are FREE!!! It is a glorious thing that Jesus has given the world!!! We cannot express how incredible this is. What we can do is in today's verses; "Let NOT sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instrumen...

dead to me

Romans 6:9-11 "9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. 10 For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." You are DEAD to sin! Going back to old english sayings; one would say; "you're dead to me!" To say the person in question was disowned or would never be seen, or heard from again. With Jesus Christ, you and I can say to sin; "you're dead to me!" We now live for GOD! Sin and death hath no more dominion over us!  We are ALIVE with Christ, now AND in the world to come! Through our Baptism, through our communion and through our sanctification we have fellowship with Christ! We will go on to everlasting life that we begin to live now when we are blessed to express these spiritual truths to this world!  We have more to be thankful for t...

ALIVE AND

Romans 6:6-8 "6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him:" Today we are THANKFUL for our LORD and SAVIOR and to be able to learn about Him by reading from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. This letter points out that our journey with God does NOT END with our salvation but it continues as each of us is SANCTIFIED, or made HOLY! When we were Baptized we were given credit for Jesus's work on the cross! The glory and blessings that Jesus earned the HARD way, became ours the EASY way!!! Can we conceive of our GOD being SO generous that He let's us participate in His plans and work? How about our GOD giving us the credit and benefit of the work He does?? Through our Baptism we journey with Jesus into death and then onto resurrection with Him!! ...

NEWNESS of LIFE

Romans 6:4 & 5 "4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:" We really want to learn how to FALL IN LINE with GOD'S rules, regulations and laws. GOD is Holy and Generous, His plan, all along, was for the Son of God to come to us and be sacrificed for our sins. We are reading from the letter to the Romans written by the Apostle Paul. This letter is the clearest and most systematic presentation of Christian doctrine in all the Holy Bible. Paul points out that our journey with God does NOT END with our salvation but it continues as each of us is SANCTIFIED, or made holy! Paul established that we do NOT want to sin more so that GOD'S GRACE will become greater. Paul further explains that when we were Baptized we ...
