Matthew 2:11
"And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh."
At last—the Epiphany!
The wise men’s long journey to worship the newborn King fulfills prophecy while exposing a sharp contrast: Herod’s chief priests and scribes have full intellectual knowledge of Scripture yet take no step toward the Messiah. The Magi, however, travel far in active, obedient faith to worship Him. This reveals the vast difference between mere head knowledge and living faith.
The conflict between earthly power and divine authority did not end with Herod. Today, many still reject the true God, preferring their own rules and life without the Lord and Savior.
Don’t follow that path. Be like the wise men. When they saw Jesus, they immediately fell down in worship—an act of deep reverence and prostration typically reserved for God, affirming Jesus’ divine identity.
Their gifts carried profound meaning:
Gold — for a king, acknowledging Jesus as King of the Jews
Frankincense — used in temple worship, symbolizing His divinity and priestly role
Myrrh — used in burial preparations, foreshadowing His suffering and death
Celebrate Jesus!
