Matthew 5:43&44
"43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"
Jesus’ words from the Gospel of Matthew.
Jonah fled Nineveh because it was dangerous—and because he feared they would repent and God would spare them. It happened: Nineveh repented, and God showed mercy, the very outcome Jonah dreaded.
Are there parts of God’s plan you resist? Do you truly love your enemies? Loving friends is easy; loving enemies is hard.
Jesus descended into hell, rose from the dead, and defeated sin and death. Your sins are forgiven. You owe it to Him to try.
