The personal accounts in the Gospel are deeply informative. Today's verse takes us to the empty tomb on that first Easter morning. These women are demonstrating their devotion and care for Jesus even after his death by showing up to anoint the body of Jesus. They had not been able to do it before the Sabbath began due to the Jewish law prohibiting work on the Sabbath. This act of anointing was a common practice to prepare a body for burial. They are courageous to come to the grave and serve their friend and teacher after His death. It was a dangerous situation...
