Matthew 22:36-39
"36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

Yesterday we learned about "EDIFY." And how important it is to seek to edify and to be edified. To edify means to instruct and improve, especially in moral and religious knowledge, and to uplift. It involves improving another by instructing them. Edification is one of the most important aspects of demonstrating LOVE for others.

Today's verses highlight God's greatest command to people. First, love GOD and second, love others. It's so simple... LOVE! However, it's not that simple. We read a great lesson in today's devotional by Nancy. Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
