Ecclesiastes 3:3&4
"3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;"
The Book of Ecclesiastes was written by King Solomon almost three thousand years ago! The world was a MUCH different place. And, it was much the same as it is today. Solomon's writing often has a weariness to it. As if so much had happened in the world that he had seen it all. AND! There has been another three thousand years since then! That's a LOT of births and a LOT of deaths. (Around one hundred generations.) So many crops and seasons. And, God has been there every step of the way. Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Solomon very adeptly illustrates that life is marked by alternating periods of activity and inactivity, joy and sorrow, and that each has its place and time. This perspective underscores the idea that life is ordered and that everything has its season, suggesting that we should accept and embrace the natural flow of life’s events. And, God is there with us every step of the way. Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
