Isaiah 9:2
"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."
As we studied "the WHOLE armour of God," we realized we needed to follow GOD'S plan. God went to extraordinary lengths to demonstrate His love for us by giving up His only Son. We can trust that He will provide us with all the things He has promised us. God’s generosity and abundance is far greater than we expected. Know this, your salvation is not just about forgiveness of sins, but about being adopted into God’s family and receiving all the benefits and responsibilities that come with being GOD'S child.
Today is the first day in the NEW YEAR on the church calendar. This is the beginning of the season of Advent. A time when we commemorate the coming of Christ in three ways: 1) The Nativity: Preparing for the celebration of Jesus’ birth at Christmas. 2) The Sacramental Presence: Preparing to receive Christ in the Eucharist and other sacraments. 3) The Second Coming: Preparing for Christ’s return at the end of time.
The writing of the prophet Isaiah was about seven hundred years before Jesus's incarnation! Amazing prophecies! And, yet people are walking in darkness to this very day! We pray that they will see the LIGHT in the coming days and weeks.
