riches of His glory

Ephesians 3:16&17
"16 That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"

So far, this week, we have read some amazing prophecies by Isaiah. Written about seven hundred years before Jesus's incarnation! In this writing we learn descriptive titles that GOD gives to His Son through the pen of Isaiah.

This week WONDERFUL and COUNCILOR. Even in the prophecies we read about God’s plan. Jesus Christ will establish and maintain a global kingdom, characterized by peace, justice, and righteousness, with no end in sight. Christ’s kingdom, extending beyond Israel to all nations.

The fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption through Jesus Christ, the Messiah. These themes are echoed throughout Scripture, particularly in the New Testament.

For today's verses we return to Paul's letter to the Ephesians. His writing definitely helps us appreciate just how WONDERFUL Jesus is. "That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,"

We can all be strengthened by God’s Spirit, enabling us to experience Christ’s presence and guidance in our lives, rooted in our faith. This inner strength comes from God’s “riches of His glory,” demonstrating His ability to meet our deepest needs.

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
