John 12:27
"Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour."
We understand that glorifying God is a little different. Jesus used the example of the grain of wheat being buried and dying to produce the new plant. Jesus also taught that we don't want to be overly careful or anxious, so we fail to live a full and rewarding life. And, Jesus tells us that we need to work beside Him. "where I am, there shall also My servant be:" Helping people come to faith in our Lord and Savior.
Keep all this in mind as we ponder today's verse. "Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour." Jesus left His throne in heaven to become incarnate and walk among His creations. And, ultimately, He came to be Sacrificed on the Cross. Should He really ask to be spared from this? No. Of course not.
