John 2:10&11
"10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and His disciples believed on Him."

Kept the good wine until NOW!
The "governor of the feast" judged this NEW wine to be the BEST! Minutes before, this wine was water. Jesus turned it into wine. Not only wine, but GREAT wine! The host had run out of wine. The host's reputation was on the line. The guests would be VERY disappointed if there was no more wine. Mary wanted to save the family from any embarrassment. She asked for help from her Son. Jesus wasn't quite ready. But, Mom had other ideas. She wanted Him to help then and there. Ready or not?

God's plan may have been something else? Mary was part of God’s plan. Mary treasured all these things in her heart. She knew her Son and knew God's plan. Her words of advice: Do what He tells you. This is the first of what would become many signs and wonders. The Disciples saw greater things, and recorded them for us to read. Telling us all who Jesus is! The Son of God. He can turn water into wine! He can walk on water. He can come back from death. He will come again to judge the quick and the dead.

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
