John 20:18
"Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things unto her."

Mary is Jesus's first eyewitness to His resurrection! She is assigned the task of telling the Disciples! This is HUGE! GOD is in control of this whole situation and this is how He wanted things to happen. Our GOD is more patient and more care-filled than we give Him credit for!

Jesus lingered at the tomb to comfort the broken heart of someone He cares about. He did not have to do that. He could have taken off making appearances with the Apostles and others. He is gently guiding her. He wanted her to think, to remember His teachings on this subject. This is our GOD.

Isn't this the kind of open and vulnerable relationship that people hope to find? One that cares and helps you when you need it most. Isn't Jesus who everyone is looking for? This is the question we all need to answer. The question Jesus asked Mary, "Who are you looking for?"

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted! Which we read in today's verses; "He hath shewed STRENGTH with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
