2 Timothy 1:8&9
"8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

Lois and Eunice's contribution to the early Church is every bit as important as Paul's! Maybe MORE IMPORTANT! They GREATLY influenced Timothy and made the foundation that the Apostles built upon to make Timothy the first bishop of Ephesus. Timothy's "UNFEIGNED FAITH" was praised by Paul. We can all take encouragement from Paul’s words and inspiration from Lois and Eunice's actions!

Don't leave it up to the child. The stakes are very high with eternal consequences. Paul puts his weight on the scales in today's verses. "Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner: but BE THOU PARTAKER of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an HOLY CALLING, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus BEFORE the WORLD BEGAN,"
Really think about these words.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted! Which we read in today's verses; "He hath shewed STRENGTH with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
