do you recognize Him?

John 20:14
"And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus."

Would you recognize Jesus if you saw Him???
What about your best friend? Would you recognize them? What about someone you see every day? Like your spouse, sibling or coworker. If you thought they were dead and gone. You witnessed their death. You helped bury them. Your mind is wrecked with grief. It was before dawn on the third day. Would you recognize them then???

We cannot say we would. Not for sure. There is so much happening, I doubt anyone could keep up with it all. Mary is in the eye of the storm, so to speak. The events are spinning around her. She has just met two angels and talks with them. She has no way of knowing what has transpired. BUT, her teacher is here to guide her and help her understand...

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
