Exodus 23:29&30
"29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.
30 By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land."

God has a Grand Plan. Our obedience is part of it. God had promised to be on the side of the Israelites. God will help them defeat their enemies! As fearful as Isreal may have been, GOD will inspire more FEAR in the hearts and minds of their enemies! God doesn't hand the Promised Land over on a silver platter. The Israelites have to work for it. Joshua leads the Israelites into many battles where they defeat the other people. Little by little GOD will return the Promised Land to the Israelites.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
