"I am well pleased."

Mark 1:11
"And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

And, this is a MORE amazing moment!!!
GOD'S voice is heard calling Jesus His Son!!!
Isn't this what people dream of? God speaks to them! All the while not picking up the Holy Bible and reading GOD'S Words written down for us! Here we have a time when God spoke to people and some of them recorded what He said! It's incredible!

Here on the banks of the Jordan River, John the Baptizer's ministry of making way for the Messiah comes to an end. From here Jesus will spend 40 days in the wilderness, resisting the temptations of Satan. Then he would begin publicly preaching and performing miracles. He is about to go viral and disrupt the whole society. 

Today, people need to hear the Gospel message, especially the parts hot with fire and brimstone! The Roman Empire crumbled long ago. Satan's empire is still with us today. More successful than ever. Our world needs to know about the saving work of Jesus Christ. We are baptized into His death and RESURRECTION! Through the waters of Baptism we are connected to Him. Forever.

The Holy Ghost is the only way this happens. They were very surprised to be hundreds and, some cases, thousands of miles from "home" and hearing their language spoken! It was astonishing!
