CRAZY!!!

Matthew 16:15
"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?"

It's CRAZY!
This is still the question that divides our world. Just WHO is Jesus? Last week we studied Jesus's Baptism. When the heavens opened and GOD said, "Thou art My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Many witnesses were there, some Disciples. After this, Jesus would begin publicly preaching and performing miracles. He is about to go viral and disrupt the whole society. 

Fast-forward a year or two and Jesus is teaching His Disciples between miraculous events. He asks them the question in today's verse. And, Peter answered, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." It was a home run. He knocked it out of the park! As Jesus continues in conversation with His followers, it becomes very clear that they DON'T really understand at ALL! Peter didn't understand what was about to unfold, and pledged to keep Jesus away from the cross. And, Jesus replied, “GET behind me Satan.” Can you and I say we understand GOD'S plan any better than Peter?

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
