John 6:3-5
"3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.
4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
5 When Jesus then lifted up His eyes, and saw a great company come unto Him, He saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?"
During Advent, we are studying Children of GOD. Besides the resurrection, this is the only miracle to be reported in all FOUR Gospels! The Gospel writers considered this a significant miracle. In yesterday's verses we learn that "a great multitude followed Him," because He was miraculously healing people. People needed Jesus' help!
With this great need comes great responsibility. As we read in today's verses, "...Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?" It's GREAT to draw a crowd! It's exciting! Thrilling! And, what's going to happen when they get hungry? Who's responsible for the logistics? Who will be blamed if things go wrong??
