Matthew 28:20
"Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
This wraps up or series on FAITH WORDS. There is no better verse to finish with than the last verse from the Gospel of Matthew. Jesus's own last words for His Disciples. Instructions and words of encouragement. First, "Teaching them..." Jesus is referring to His "new laws" of life, exceeding broad, deep, and challenging from the Sermon on the Mount. His new commandment of LOVE. And, His new practice of Baptism and the Supper of the Lord, our Holy Communion. Second, the assurance that He will ALWAYS help His followers. Now and forever.
With this knowledge, we have no need to worry. We can address our GOD with intense conviction, sincerity and humility. Even begging when necessary. And, always very thankful to GOD for literally everything. The good, the bad and all else. We can be secure in GOD'S PEACE, which surpasses all human understanding. It is beyond what we can imagine or conceive. Whatever the highest and noblest expression of PEACE we can think of is, GOD'S is beyond that! Nothing else can compare to what we receive as a gift from our FAITH in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior!
