while yet sinners

Romans 5:7&8
"7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Our HOPE is based on GOD'S LOVE for us! Which never fails! While we were still sinners, Jesus died for us. It is a perfect LOVE, a flawless LOVE, an inspiration to all people for all time. And, that gives us HOPE. We can REJOICE in God's HOPE!

GOD'S LOVE is SO POWERFUL that He sacrificed His only Son for you! Be careful that you don't take this for granted. Reread today's verses; "For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, WHILE we were YET SINNERS, Christ died for us." Will we ever be able to understand the how and why the Son of God died for us sinners? We can understand a parent sacrificing their own life for their own child. We can even fathom a friend saving the life of another who they cared about. But, that's not what we see in the crucifixion. In this focal point of history we see GOD the Father sacrificing His only Son to save the sinners throughout all time. At the very moment when people were sinning all around Him. It is mind-boggling and incomprehensible. And, somehow, it's GOD'S plan. We can rest our HOPE in Jesus!

God’s patience

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." God did not immediately punish King Solomon when he allowed his foreign wives to build altars for false gods. Despite multiple compromises, God remained patient. Over time, Solomon’s endorsement of idolatry defied God’s covenant, leading to divine judgment, including the loss of the kingdom for his son. Some mistake God’s patience for indifference or inaction, but He follows His plan in His timing. If our nation, culture, church, or we ourselves stray like Solomon, we can repent and return to God’s path. And, should do so sooner than later! Amen!
