1 John 4:10
"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."
"Propitiation" is the action done to win or regain the favor of GOD. Jesus became incarnate, lived the sinless life and was sacrificed for the sins of every guilty sinner. All of this was done while everyone was still sinners and often not yet believing in Christ as their personal Savior. Amazing stuff.
We can't love at the same intense level that GOD does. It's not possible. BUT, we can learn and we can try. GOD LOVES all people everywhere. EVEN non-believers. Jesus died for EVERYONE. If you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will experience salvation. God makes us His children, and welcomes us into heaven! Long before we loved God, He loved us. It seems incomprehensible. It is definitely incredible.
