no boast

Ephesians 2:9&10
"9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

We should NOT boast.
The only other place "workmanship" is used in Holy Scriptures is Romans 1:20, where it is applied to the “works” of God in creation. We like to take pride in who we are and what we do, but it is God, making us who and what we are! When we are blessed to become a “new creation” in Christ Jesus, it's thanks to the Holy Ghost! It's GOD'S plan! GOD'S GRACE!

God rescued us with salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. These verses helped the German priest, Martin Luther, understand GRACE. Possibly even inspiring him to nail his 95 Thesis to the church door and kickstart the Protestant Reformation.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted! Which we read in today's verses; "He hath shewed STRENGTH with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
