Galatians 5:22-26

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."

This week we have studied Priscilla and Aquila and their influence on Apollos. They were instrumental in the early church. All were influenced and educated by the teachings of Paul. Christians make other Christians better. And, each of them would be quick to point to and give the glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

We can read and contemplate today's verses and let their wisdom guide us. We want to become better people, like Priscilla, Aquila, and Apollos. We want to "walk in the Spirit." Please take a couple of minutes and read this great article. It will make clear what our goals are as Christians...

What Does it Mean to Become a Better Person as a Christian?

Becoming like the rest of the world will prevent us from becoming better people for Jesus. Instead of being conformed to the world, we need to be conformed to the Person of Jesus Christ.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel. Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
