Acts 16:11&12
"11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days."
We are studying the inspiring Women of Faith in the Holy Bible. We are studying Lydia this week and keeping in mind the heart of the issue; our thoughts and attitudes. As expressed in Psalms, chapter fifty-one, verses ten; "Create in me a clean HEART, O God; and renew a RIGHT SPIRIT within me." Words that underscore the importance of us having our hearts and minds in the right place.
Today we turn to the Book of Acts, chapter sixteen, verses eleven and twelve. The writer of Acts is the Gospel writer, Luke, he loves to add geographic details. Which is great because it helps is retrace the path of their journey. In this account we are following Paul and Timothy, approximately seventeen years after the resurrection. They are heading north-west, bringing the Gospel message into Europe!! The phrase “straight course” means they had the wind in their favor. They are part of GOD’S plan, the Holy Ghost is guiding and inspiring them, but they can't do it alone...
