right heart

Psalm 51:10
"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

We are studying Women of Faith in the Holy Bible. It is inspiring to read accounts of their FAITH. Last week we focused on the women of Canaan who's daughter was possessed by a demon. Her daughter was made whole because of her GREAT FAITH. She was persistent and didn't take "no" for an answer.

Her HEART was in the right place. That is the reoccurring theme we see; it's an issue of the heart. For today's verse we turn to Psalms, chapter fifty-one, verses ten; "Create in me a clean HEART, O God; and renew a RIGHT SPIRIT within me." Words we recognize from our liturgical worship service. Hopefully we say these words at least once a week. They underscore the importance of us having our hearts and minds in the right place. We will keep this in mind as we study Lydia this week...

Acts 2:7&8 "7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?" The Holy Ghost is the only way this happens. They were very surprised to be hundreds and, some cases, thousands of miles from "home" and hearing their language spoken! It was astonishing! Appreciate that these devout Jewish people whose families had been carried away from Israel generations before. Taken in captivity by armies that invaded and conquered Israel. (A little like Joseph was taken captive to Egypt. All by God's plan to save the Israelites during a time of famine.)
