1 Samuel 1:17-20
"17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of Him.
18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.
20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD."
GOD answered HANNAH'S prayers!
Samuel means "heard of God." Because his life is given as a answer to prayer. Samuel is dedicated to GOD by his mother as part of the vow she made in her prayers. Then as a child, he was placed in the care of Eli, the high priest at the tabernacle at Shiloh, where she prayed. The Lord called Samuel at a young age to become a prophet. After Eli's death, Samuel became the great prophet and judge of Israel and restored law, order, and regular religious worship in Israel. Samuel goes on to helping and influencing the Jewish monarchy by choosing and anointing Saul and David as kings of Israel! And, it all started with the humble and fervent prayer of Hannah! This woman had a PROFOUND impact on Jewish history, Christian history and world history! Just think about it!
