sin no more

John 8:10&11
"10 When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."

The scribes and Pharisees drug this poor woman in front of Jesus because she was caught committing adultery. They have stones in their hands ready to execute her. Jesus writes something on the ground and then says; "He that is WITHOUT SIN among you, let him first cast a stone AT her."

None of them are without sin. They were "CONVICTED by THEIR OWN conscience." They all left Jesus and this poor woman alone. Today's verses; "When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, NEITHER DO I CONDEMN thee: go, and sin no more."

Jesus did NOT CONDEMN her. Jesus saved her! She is free to go and sin no more. We are all saved and free! As a result we need to change our ways. Try as we might, we won't be sinless, but we can sin less.

Luke 1:51-53 "51 He hath shewed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away." This is Mary's Magnificat. Beginning with verse forty-six Mary's responds to Elizabeth’s blessing is EPIC! In this poem Mary praises GOD for His blessing to her and His faithfulness to Israel.  Mary's Magnificat also highlights a series of reversals in which the proud are humbled and the humble are exalted!
