Acts 1:4&5
"4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."
We are studying GOD'S Covenants with people. This week our focus is on Jesus's promise to His followers to send the Holy Ghost! We read from the Gospel of John where before the crucifixion says He will send "the COMFORTER, which is the HOLY GHOST..." The Holy Ghost will help the Disciples remember what they know and inspire them to put it into practice.
For today's verses we turn to the Book of Acts, chapter one, where the resurrected Jesus is guiding the Disciples to stay in Jerusalem for forty days so they can learn more and most importantly; recive the Holy Ghost! "And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be BAPTIZED with the HOLY GHOST not many days hence." This is a major promise, even a Covenant between GOD and people. In this instance His Disciples and it extends to Jesus's followers to this very day; the Holy Ghost is working in our lives too!
