Matthew 14:24-26
"24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear."
Jesus taught His Disciples and us; "with God ALL THINGS are POSSIBLE." In the verses we are studying He demonstrates that! We pick up where Jesus and the Disciples had fed the multitude. Jesus has arranged to have some quiet time for Himself, "ALONE." The Disciples have sailed away and they soon find themselves in trouble. In today's verses; "But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, WALKING ON THE SEA. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for FEAR."
The Sea of Galilee represented chaos and danger to the people of this day and time. Sailing is dangerous and out on the open waters there is no one who can help you. Well, almost no one; Jesus comes walking over the chaos of waves and wind that have the small boat tossing and turning. It's a terrifying experience the Disciples are having and Jesus comes in the night, in the storm, walking on the water to help them!!!
