Luke 1:73-75
"73 The oath which He sware to our father Abraham,
74 That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life."
We are in the Gospel of Luke, where Zacharias, the father of John the Baptizer, has his voice back and uses it to glorify GOD! He prophesied about the coming Christ. Now, he is recalling to everyone's memory the Holy Covenant God made. Which continues in today's verses...
"The oath which He sware to our father Abraham," This oath is in Genesis 22:16-17. God swore that He would surely bless Abraham and his posterity. This promise was fulfilled by the coming of the Messiah.
"That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life." All that GOD is asking of us is worship and obedience. With all that GOD has done for us; it is a small request. We may feel like GOD is asking a lot, but in reality God's plan is for us to serve Him by serving OTHERS. When people are NOT experiencing God’s love; that's when we need to LOVE on those people more. God shows His love for us through other people. When people experience our love, we turn the praise to God. "It's all from God." Blessings and praising. God recives the work and things we do.
