hear AND do

Matthew 7:24-26
"24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:"

Its ALL GOD'S PLAN. Our fall was our own choice and our redemption was GOD'S choice! It's a little surprising that people reject the Son of God. The Holy Scriptures describes it as darkness rejecting the Light. Still its GOD'S Divine blessing that will enable our SUCCESS. It's GOD'S providence that is protecting us, without GOD we will fail.

Often we don't plan to fail, but we do fail to plan. When we are doing good we plan. We might even think of it as "MY PLAN." But, in reality it's the Lord that is in charge. Yesterday we read how the early Apostles grew the church; "The Lord" added to their numbers. They were doing work to grow the church but it was by GOD'S plan. God will bless the work we do. God wants you along to help, but it is ALL GOD'S work. 

Today we continue this lesson, turning to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter seven, beginning with verse twenty-four. Notice the repeated pattern of "hear My sayings..." listening and learning from Jesus is important. Building you life on GOD'S principles is the only way to survive the storms of life.

Elisha’s example

I will make you

Matthew 4:19&20 "19 And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed Him." In our "Follow Me" series, we study Jesus calling His disciples in the Gospel of Matthew. By the Sea of Galilee, a thriving fishing hub, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew casting nets as humble fishermen. His disciples were ordinary workers, not wealthy or educated elites. Jesus approached them and said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Remarkably, they immediately left their jobs to follow Him. This brief exchange conveys a profound truth: Jesus says, "I will make you." Only God can transform us to accomplish His purpose. We should often pray, "Help me, God," seeking Jesus' guidance to follow His plan for our lives.
