Luke 2:18-20
"18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them."

These shepherds were given a really big show of light and sound from heaven to announce the birth of Jesus. Out in a field in the middle of NOWHERE in the middle of the night. They became witnesses to the arrival of the Messiah! They told everyone they encountered about the Devine Revelation shared with them!

The mother of our Lord and Savior held these memories close to her heart. She shared her recollection with a selected few. Fortunately one of them was Dr. LUKE writing his Gospel for you and for me. Now, we have some incredible insights on the ADVENT of the Messiah! His arrival into our world to SAVE us from ourselves!

Acts 2:7&8 "7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?" The Holy Ghost is the only way this happens. They were very surprised to be hundreds and, some cases, thousands of miles from "home" and hearing their language spoken! It was astonishing! Appreciate that these devout Jewish people whose families had been carried away from Israel generations before. Taken in captivity by armies that invaded and conquered Israel.
