John 11:25-27
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord: I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
Jesus's friend Lazarus died and was buried before Jesus even arrived! Now, Jesus is dealing with the grieving sisters. Martha expects a miracle here. She doesn't understand. Jesus has a better plan for her, for her sister and their recently deceased brother Lazarus. Jesus's plan is GOD'S plan and it is for you and me, too!!!
Martha doesn't expect Jesus to bring her brother back from the dead, today! BUT, He does! Even on our Deathbed we can know that our best days are ahead of us. We will all experience a new life in heaven. This occasion let's Jesus's friend demonstrate to the world that Jesus is GOD! In spite of our own understanding OR misunderstanding of what Jesus will or won't do; He will still use us to advance GOD'S plan!
Today's verses; "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? She saith unto Him, Yea, Lord: I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." There seems to he a margin for error. We may get some of the details WRONG. Yet, we need to get the basics right; Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of God!" If we will confess this, everything else will fall into place. Praise the LORD!
